The Tampa Bay Computer Society is a membership computer club that offers many FREE computer classes and seminars that non-members may evaluate before joining. We cater to beginners as well as tech pros.
Our claim to fame is that we repair our members' computers for FREE - but that's just one of the many reasons to join us.
We are one of the premier computer and technology training centers in Pinellas County. Our 1,300 members have their choice of attending over 50 computer and Internet classes and seminars each month.
We have classes in Microsoft Windows and Office, Adobe Photoshop, Genealogy, Digital Video, Online Investing, Website Design, Linux, Microsoft Expression Web, Microsoft Visual Basic, Digital Scrapbooking, Computer Embroidery, and Social Networking (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc., etc.).
Our Media Center has equipment capable of digitizing many analog formats:
While we occasionally charge $5 per classroom hour for some classes, most of our resources are shared with our members for free.
All meetings, classes, and seminars take place at our offices located at 1510 Barry Rd. in Clearwater.
Jack Marscher, who is the coordinator of the studio, needs more mentors, especially for the audio conversion.
Volunteers needed to keep the Center open from 9am 'til 5pm throughout the week.
Your job is simply to answer the phone and to meet and greet people who come in to pay dues, ask about the Repair Clinic, etc. Shifts are 9am-1pm and 1-5pm on Monday thru Friday.
